Free Eye Camp
Since 2012 at Gurdwara Tambu Sahib, Nankana Sahib — fighting preventable blindness with monthly seva.
Nankana Sahib camps
Cataracts remain a leading cause of blindness in many developing regions, including Pakistan. Khalsa International Welfare Society runs free eye camps on the last Sunday of each month at Gurdwara Tambu Sahib, Nankana Sahib - about 14 to 15 camps every year, with additional large camps in November.
People from over 1,500 villages come for free treatment. KIWS provides free check-ups, medicines, glasses, phaco operations, and LASIK. One phaco operation costs around £150. Special LASIK surgery for a young girl costs about £700. Each monthly camp costs about £2,000 to run.
Every year, KIWS treats around 90,000 to 100,000 patients across these camps — seva that restores sight and dignity.
